Student Service Award

To recognize and encourage chapter members to participate in areas of personal/professional development to include: Academically Prepared, Community Oriented, Professionally Responsible, Leadership

 Criteria:

1. Up to three (3) awards may be presented per campus at the discretion of the chapter advisor(s).

2. Names of recipients are to be selected by the chapter advisor(s) and entered via the link below. Advisor selections will be verified.

3. Recipients will be recognized at the State Career Development Conference.

4. Students are to demonstrate:

  • Community Involvement-activities in this area are designed to develop the members’ awareness of the value of being active in civic projects. Volunteerism within the community should be emphasized.

  • Leadership-Leadership development activities are designed to provide opportunities for members to participate as both leaders and followers. Such experiences enable members to develop competencies directly related to management, communications, human relations and sales. Examples of leadership: Chapter Officer Committee Member, Committee Chairperson State Officer, State Officer Candidate.

  • Professionally Responsible-awarded to those members demonstrating the professional qualities necessary to succeed in the field of marketing.

  • Academically Prepared-this category is designed to encourage members to be ambitious, high-achieving leaders that study to be equipped to conquer the challenges of their career aspirations. Attend Professional Development Conference, Participate in local/invitational competitive events, Participate in State Career Development Conference, Other (apply for, requires advisor’s approval)

DUE DATE:

February 1

The purpose of this award is to recognize on the state and international levels excellence in achievement as a Collegiate DECA chapter advisor.

CRITERIA:

  •       Three (3) years of service as a chapter advisor.

  •       Currently an active paid state and international member.

  •       Contributions to local, state and/or international Collegiate DECA.

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:

  •       State Collegiate DECA Recognition.

  •       Non-advisor duties: School, Community and Professional Organization(s)

Nominations can be made by students, advisors, college peers and/or officials, members of the MN Collegiate DECA Board of Directors, and business representatives by following the link below.

Advisor Of The Year

Honorary Life Membership

May be awarded to individuals of the business community who have supported Minnesota Collegiate DECA in a significant way for a minimum of five (5) years, and from whom Collegiate DECA may reasonably expect continued interest in its activities.  Recipient of the award may be a Marketing Educator who has contributed seven (7) years or more of service, or who has left the program and had aided significantly to the development and progress of Minnesota Collegiate DECA.

Considerations for Award Nominees: the following is a list of areas of Collegiate DECA involvement you may wish to consider as you are reviewing possible award nominees.

  •    Involvement in local chapter programs

  •    Organization and development of unique local chapter programs

  •    Involvement in state conferences

  •    Leadership to Minnesota Collegiate DECA through Task Forces and State Board involvement

  •    Participation in preparation of written materials for state competitive events and leadership activities

  •    Involvement with International DECA activities through participation in International Conferences and committee              assignments

  •    General impact on others

  •    Ethical standards

Outstanding Service Award

Outstanding Service Award may be awarded to either a business or members of the Professional Division who have rendered service above and beyond the call of duty. Only those individuals who have rendered such service for three (3) or more years will be eligible for receipt of the Outstanding Service Award.
